What is the policy for inclement weather?
Observations are weather-dependent. In case of cloud cover, we pivot to indoor planetarium presentations and scientific lectures. If extreme weather occurs, events may be rescheduled.
What clothing and equipment should I bring?
Observatories can be significantly colder than surrounding areas. We recommend warm, layered clothing and closed-toe shoes. Red-light torches are permitted; white light is discouraged to preserve night vision.
Is the facility accessible for visitors with mobility needs?
Yes, our main viewing decks and lecture halls are fully wheelchair accessible. We also offer specialized eyepiece extensions for certain telescopes to accommodate all visitors.
What are the rules regarding photography?
Astrophotography is encouraged during designated sessions. Flash photography is strictly prohibited during all night observations. Tripods are allowed in specific areas to ensure safety.
Are there specific safety rules for solar observing?
Never look at the sun without professional equipment. During solar events, visitors must only use the filtered telescopes provided. We provide certified solar viewing glasses for all daytime participants.
